OrthoPets Europe News
Practice visits: At OrthoPets Europe we are becoming increasingly aware that there exists a lack of detailed knowledge, of the field of V-OP (Veterinary Orthotics & Prosthetics) within the Veterinary industry on this side of the Atlantic. In order to try to improve this, we are launching a Practice Visit program to increase knowledge & awareness. So, if any practice is interested in having us visit to discuss the applications and benefits of V-OP, then please email Alison or phone her on 01453 811930 for more details and to register your interest.
Country count hits 10: OrthoPets Europe have now helped dogs in 10 different countries on this side of the Atlantic. We currently have clients in:- Andorra, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, Switzerland and of course the UK....plus we have enquiries coming in from several other countries!
Assessment & Casting clinics: OrthoPets Europe are pleased to announce that we have just struck a deal with a local Veterinary Hospital, which allows us use of their consultation rooms. This will provide us with a great base from which we can conduct patient assessment and casting clinics. Contact Us for more information on this new service.
The OrthoPets Europe eNewsletter is born: Destined to be a regular update for both dog owners and those in the Veterinary profession, the first OrthoPets Europe eNewsletter was sent over the ether to nearly 2,500 subscribers. Maddie returns to Agility: Nearly one year to the day since her first operation for bilateral Achilles tendon injuries, Maddie returned to Agility on Sunday August 28th, wearing a pair of OrthoPets tarsus orthoses to protect the tendons from re-injury. Being cleared to complete by both her surgeon and the UK Agility Club, Maddie took to the ring for the Casual Jumping to the delight of her owner Nicky Prescott.
Maddie was operated on at the Bristol Unversity Veterinary College at Langford, by Orthopaedic specialist Adrian Wallace. After each operation, Maddie was fitted with an OrthoPets Progressive Tarsus(hock) Orthosis to enable a controlled, progressive reintroduction of articulation to the joint and prevent re-injury.

OrthoPets Europe launch the 'VIRTUAL CLINIC': Hot on the heels of our new website, we have launched our 'VIRTUAL CLINIC'. Now Vets & Dog Owners with an Apple computer or iPhone 4, and a suitable wifi internet connection, can have Video Call Consultations using FaceTime, to discuss a dog's condition & learn what OrthoPets solutions are available. FaceTime consults are available 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, and at other times by arrangement, at facetime@orthopets.co.uk.
OrthoPets Europe at London Vet Show: As part of our drive to heighten awareness of Veterinary Orthotic & Prosthetic solutions, OrthoPets Europe will be attending the London Vet Show this year. Whilst a relatively new Veterinary Conference & Exhibition, the LVS has seen rapid growth in attendance each year and stands to provide a good platform for us to exhibit our range of devices. Held at Olympia over 24th & 25th November, OrthoPets Europe will be on Stand N35 , if you're there why not come and visit us!
OrthoPets Europe scoop stand award at BSAVA 2011: In only our second year of attending the BSAVA Congress, held over four days at the NIA in Birmingham, OrthoPets Europe scooped the Award for 'Best Small Shell Stand'. The award was presented by BSAVA President Grant Petrie, who said "with the small stands, the awards committee take into account the use of space with visual aids etc., as well as how the stand staff interact with the delegates". The BSAVA is the largest Small Animal Veterinary Conference & Exhibition in Europe, with annual attendance of over 6,000 Vets & Vet Nurses and nearly 3,000 exhibitors. 2012 sees the BSAVA hosting the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress, and once again OrthoPets Europe will be in attendance.
